I’m John Paulson. I actually said this, with a straight face, to the New York Times: The top 1 percent of New Yorkers pay over 40 percent of all income taxes, providing huge benefits to everyone in our city and state… Paulson & Company and its employees have paid hundreds of millions in New York City and New York State taxes in recent years and have created over 100 high-paying jobs in New York City since its formation. So, it appears, I whine about even the most basic civic duty.  I created very high paying jobs for a tremendous 100 people.  I’m a job creator… for other people in the 1%.  Take away the tax break I get on my corporate jet and I’ll pay my lobbyists to nuke your social security checks from orbit.  Also, please stop protesting, you’re making it hard for my driver to pick me up.
